Join Us in Our Commitment to Sustainability and Health

At the Welby Group, we recognise that climate change is a pressing issue that directly impacts the health of our population. It’s something we all should be concerned about. That’s why we are dedicated to taking action to reduce our environmental impact and promote a healthier, greener lifestyle.

Here are some additional ways we are addressing climate change and promoting sustainability:

  • Community Engagement and Events: We actively engage with our community by sharing events such as Parkruns and wellbeing walks. These events promote physical activity and connect people with nature while fostering a sense of community and wellbeing.
  • Promoting Greener Lifestyles: Through our monthly newsletter and social media channels, we encourage our staff and patients to live greener lifestyles. We welcome ideas from our staff on how we can further reduce our environmental impact and promote sustainability and have recently gained Active Practice Charter status.
  • Reducing Single-Use Plastics: In our efforts to reduce waste, we have significantly decreased the use of single-use plastics at our practices. We provide reusable cups and mugs to our staff and patients and prioritise the procurement of Fairtrade food and drink from local areas.
  • Water Stations: To encourage hydration without contributing to plastic waste, we have installed water fountains at all our practices.
  • Waste Management: We ensure that our bins are properly labelled and used appropriately to facilitate recycling and waste reduction. Additionally, we prescribe responsibly to minimise unnecessary waste generation.
  • Sustainable Procurement: We are continually evaluating our purchasing practices, including cleaning products and office stationery, to identify more sustainable options and reduce our environmental impact.
  • Commitment to achieving the NUS/RCGP Green Impact Award by implementing the NUS/RCGP Green Impact Toolkit: We are committed to supporting the National Green Impact Agenda and reducing carbon emissions in alignment with the 2030 United Nations Sustainability Development Goals.

By implementing these initiatives and fostering a culture of sustainability, we are not only reducing our environmental footprint but also promoting the health and wellbeing of our staff, patients, and community.

Thank you for joining us on this journey towards a healthier and greener future.
